What is your favourite thing about fungi?

"Fungi are plastic and complex organisms that can efficiently adapt to their growing environment. Fungi always have and continue to surprise us in the laboratory, so they make our day-to-day work interesting."

Why does this job matter to you?

"At Sapro-Tech, we are on our way to developing sustainable materials from a number of under-utilised natural resources. Ultimately, our work can make a massive difference to the sustainability of consumer markets, and that is really exciting for me."

What should people know about Sapro-Tech that they may not already know?

"People may not know that Sapro-Tech is "home-grown". That is, our fungi are from here right here in New Zealand. Our people live here, our offices are here, and our laboratory is here. It's New Zealand innovation at its best."
