What is your favourite thing about fungi?

“I love fungi for their flair to be dramatic! They are the whimsical wizards of the microbial world - unpredictable, never boring, and super adaptable. They have the ability to conquer any environment with their spore-tacular (read spectacular) finesse. Always keeping us on our toes in the lab, they make awesome colleagues to work with.”

Why does this job matter to you?

“Working in Sapro-Tech is incredibly meaningful to me because it combines creativity with environmental stewardship. Myco-leather offers a sustainable alternative to animal-based lather by utilising unused natural resources or agricultural waste, reducing reliance on land and water resources while cutting down pollution. Sapro-Tech isn’t just fixing today’s mess; it’s setting us up for a greener tomorrow by completely shaking up how we do things. Being part of a team dedicated to shrinking our eco-footprint and leaving a cleaner Earth for future generations is a profoundly fulfilling endeavour to me.”

What should people know about Sapro-Tech that they may not already know?

“At Sapro-Tech, we're all about hands-on innovation, meticulously refining every aspect of the leather production process to align with our commitment to sustainability, affordability, and natural materials. Our focus goes beyond just the end product; we're dedicated to developing inventive techniques for cultivating fungi sustainably. This ensures that our products are not only eco-friendly but also socially responsible, reflecting our holistic approach to creating a greener future.”
